Sippy cup
I am trying to make Austin to use a sippy cup since he was about 6 months old. Now he is one year old and still haven't used a sippy cup. We went to Austin's doctor, his doctor told me that I have to stop giving him a bottle so Austin will have to learn how to use a sippy cup and forget about the bottle. I told his doctor, Austin doesn't care if he is thirst. If I give him a sip cup, he refused to take it and won't drink at all. I don't want him to be dehydrated if he does not drink at all. Sometimes, it's embarrassing for me to give him a bottle in the pubic because people would think I am a lazy mother for not trying to give him a sippy cup. I think babies with heart defect don't have normal appetites for drink or food. I have to feed him very well whenever he does not feel like to eat or drink. I have heard few mothers of baby with heart defect do have same problems as Austin's. I will keep trying to give him a sippy cup.

A lot of mothers have problems introducing sippy cups to their babies..... Don't worry. Austin will get the hang of it eventually :) Zach had a hard time as well. Email me (danzr26@yahoo.com) so we can chat :)

P.S. Austin is sooo cute!!!!!!!
that is normal - my youngest is now almost 8 months and still won't take her sippy cup - just keep on trying to encourage him and be patient. He will accept the new sippy cup within time. :) Hope all is well.
ps. there is nothing to be embaressed. :) I have seen a 5 year old with a pacifier and I think that is worse - heehee!
